As the body considers an item of business, secondary motions may be introduced—such as a motion to amend or a substitute motion. When that happens, the current Motion on the Floor displays in a prominent area between the Parliamentary Toolbox and the Voting Panel.

What to know:
- This area always shows the motion currently being considered—even if it's a tertiary motion (e.g., an amendment to an amendment).1
- The main item of business stays at the bottom of the screen. The Motion on the Floor area is only for secondary and tertiary motions.2
- If you lose track of where the body is in its deliberation, check this area first. It will tell you what's actively being considered.2
