Timing Tips
- You don't have to wait until an item is being debated to submit your motion. If you know you want to propose an amendment, submit it in advance—during your committee prep or before a plenary session.
- Submitting early gives you time to ask a motion coordinator to review your formatting before the session starts.
- However, some amendments will only occur to you during debate. That's fine—just be prepared to work through both steps in real time.
